I’m sure by now, you’ve starting thinking about making “healthy” New Year’s Resolutions or have already done so, right?

People everywhere commit to HUGE New Year’s resolutions that are nearly impossible to achieve. By the 1st of February, many have forgotten about the goals they set for themselves and guess what? They end up not reaching them.

How many times have you set a new goal to live a healthier lifestyle, only to not even start because that goal is so vague. It doesn’t motivate you. The thought of changing, what seems like everything, at once, is also overwhelming.

I’d like to suggest you taking a different approach this year.

Make your 2018 New Year’s Resolutions SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ACTIONABLE, RELEVANT, and TIMELY.


So, here are four resolutions that are actionable and achievable:

Drink more water daily.

When you drink more water you feel better!

Water helps your body function better and will help you to lose weight. Water will also help give you a beautiful, youthful glow. And don’t just chug it all at once. Get you a water bottle, keep it with you throughout the day, and enjoy every sip. This will make it that much easier to increase your water intake, achieve your goal, and it will be so beneficial for your whole body.

Decrease the amount of processed foods you eat daily.

Unhealthy foods that are filled with sugar and toxins is poison to our bodies and not fuel!

Instead of eating sweets because you have a sweet tooth craving or because something looks good to you, eat because you want to nourish your body. When you eat foods that’ll give you energy and help you to feel better, you’ll be on track for a healthier New Year. So, start 2018 by eating whole foods that nourish and benefit your body.

Move between tasks.

Most people think of a New Year’s Resolution as heading to the gym every day. Although this sounds like a great goal, it can sometimes be unachievable with your busy schedule. I know! 

That’s why I want you to know you don’t have to go to the gym to move more.

In fact, if you sit all day it’s a good idea to go for a walk on your lunch break, or stand up and move in between breaks.

Make moving fun in 2018. You will feel so much better!

Tame your fear of failure & kiss negative thinking goodbye

As the saying goes, believe you can and you’re almost there. 

In 2018 make it a goal to stop the negative thinking.

This will help you to be an overall happier person and will help you to become healthier, too.

Having a positive outlook in life is a choice. Your choice! 

Negative thinking often stems from the fear of failure. It takes root when thoughts of a bad outcome become deeply rooted in your expectations.

To think more positive, you should not fear failing because in doing so, you are inviting failure itself. Instead, view mistakes and failure as opportunities to learn. It becomes much easier to maintain a positive outlook when we have forgiving expectations for ourselves.
